Sales and marketing coordinators oversee the development of specific sales and marketing techniques. They must work with both the sales department and the marketing department to ensure that they are promoting the business and communicating with clients in the most efficient, effective way. Sales and marketing coordinators work with the marketing department to help get a company’s name in the public. They help coordinate and create marketing plans and campaigns, and they often work with the design team to develop up-to-date marketing ads and brochures. They also make sure that the website is promoting the company’s services and products as effectively as possible. Sales and marketing coordinators also work with the sales team and their direct contact with potential customers as well as branding companies.
Coordinators work to generate new relationships and turn clients into repeat customers. They may help to develop sales scripts for the sales team, presentations, and proposals. These are then taken to a prospective client in an effort to get them to buy into the company’s products or services. Must be good working with teams and able to show creativity and drive, since much of the position is helping a company to sell itself.
Sales and marketing coordinators typically have earned a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field. Must be willing to look at other companies as well as see what they are doing and how we can do it better. Must be able to meet company goals and deadlines. And must be willing to travel from time to time. S&M Coordinator must be a self-starter.
